Polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins/furans(PCDD/Fs), polybrominated dibenzo-p-dioxins/furans (PBDD/Fs), polychlorinated biphenyls(PCBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers(PBDEs) are four groups of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) that are widely distributed in the environment. They are persistent, bioaccumulative, semi-volatile, highly toxic, and difficult to naturally degrade in the environment. In this thesis, we investigated the concentrations of PCDD/Fs, PCBs and PBDEs in the ambient air and soil around an municipal soild waste incineration(MSWI) plant in the east of Zhejiang, by using isotope dilution/high resolution gas chromatography/high resolution mass spectrometry method.Firstly, a method for simultaneous determination of PCDD/Fs, PBDD/Fs, PCBs and PBDEs was established by using elution curve and fraction cut technology to eliminate the PCB and PBDE blank of interference and optimize the pre-treatment. The technology was developed using AutoSoxtec, acid silica gel column, multi-layered silica gel column active carbon column and HRGC-HRMS.Secondly, by using high volume active air sampler(AAS) and PUF passive air sampler(PAS), the concentrations of POPs in the ambient air of the MSWI plant were investigated. The results showed a good correlation with active and passive air samplers. Air sample TEQ(PCDD/Fs, dl-PCBs) was between0.15-0.95WHO-TEQ pg/m3, average was0.56WHO-TEQ pg/m3; PBDEs content was range4.46-32.49pg/m3(BDE-209was52.34~255.29pg/m3), average was12.20pg/m3(BDE-209was126.88 pg/m3). With the increase of the distance between measuring point and pollution source, the concentrations of POPs decreased. The results indicated that MSWI emissions of dioxins have a certain impact on the surrounding area. In some areas because of the fugitive emissions, the concentrations of dioxins were higher than other urban areas. The last, the concentrations of POPs in soil around the MSWI plant were investigated. Soil sample TEQ(PCDD/Fs, dl-PCBs) was between1.71~16.29WHO-TEQ pg/g, only3samples were lower than the Canada Residential Soil Control Criteria, but4samples were higher than the Dutch Farm Soil Control Criteria. The∑PCBs concentrations were0.398~3.427ng/g, average was1.412ng/g, which were lower than Dutch Farm Soil Control Criteria. The∑BDEs concentrations were32.2~443.8pg/g (BDE-209was0.630~4.824ng/g).
