The Craft Of Adras Textile And Its Innovative Applications In Fashion Design

Adras is the ancient silk road integration product of China and the west civilizations. Now itretained in Hetian region of Xinjiang province, it has profound historical and cultural value.Adras has extremely local characteristics and it has national character pattern and color, the warptie-dye technique is the most amazing part of the fabric. It fully reflects the xinjiang uygurpeople’s aesthetic taste. It is unique among China’s ethnic minorities weaving art, it is also the artof Chinese national treasure. Under the national revival of traditional arts and crafts and stronglyadvocated environmentalism background, the traditional natural dyes Adras fabric dyeingprocess and pure manual weaving process has certain research value and potential ofdevelopment.This paper based on the related literature searching and sorting, combing out the historyorigin and development of Adras. Then this article based on the historical and culturalbackground of Adras, combined the investigation at Adras factory in Hetian region, analyzed anddiscussed the pattern, color and weaving skills of Adras. At the end, I did some related designthrough the fabric, clothing structure and the design of the clothing technology, try to excavatetoday’s market potential and the economic value of Adras. Summed up a feasible way of thedesign concept and methods, bring vigor and vitality into the old handcraft, hope it will obtain abetter inheritance in the future. And I also hope this paper will bring some reference to otherrelated ethnic elements fashion design.
