1,4-naphthoquinone is an important organic product of fine chemical industry, andit is mainly used to synthesize the organic compounds medicine, pesticide and dyestuff.The primarily synthesis methods are liquid-phase oxidation and gaseous-phaseoxidation. In this paper, the progresses in study on these two methods are introduced.Up to now, the liquid-phase electro-oxidation is widely used, and these is a longertime in the industrial.The gaseous-phase catalyst will become the key point.In this paper, a new method about synthesis of1,4-naphthoquinone wasintroduced.1,4-naphthoquinone is synthesize by oxidation using1-naphthol as rawmaterial, oxygen as oxidant in presence of Vanadium pentoxide, and with glacial aceticacid as solvent. The optimum conditions are as followa: the reaction temperature is75℃, the reaction time is2h, the reaction presure is0.1MPa, the concentration ofglacial acetic acid is35%and the amount of Vanadium pentoxide is3‰of awmaterial. The yield of the prouduce is64.10%. This provides a theoretical basis for theindustrial production of valuable commercially.
