Extracting lipid is one of important aspects utilizing microalgal bioresource. Lipid extraction from wet microalgae is a key step in the process. In this work, alcohols methanol, ethanol and isopropanol were used as the extracting solvents. Methanol is a polar solvent and can penetrate the cell wall and membrane. The mixed solvents can enhance the efficiency of oil extraction. Alcohols are water-soluble, so they can be used to extract oil from wet biomass. In a serious extractions, simultaneous extraction protein and carbohydrate together with extracting lipid has been studied. The process was evaluated.
