Fatty acids are important materials for human health, which are basic units of body fats and lipids. Fatty acids can directly regulate membrane composition and membrane protein receptors. With more and more important physiological function of fatty acids and their methyl esters were found, it means huge demanded for measurement of fatty acids, in the detection of food and clinical testing. Because of low polarity and high boiling point, the concents of fatty acid usually determined by methyl ester of fatty acid contents, and calculated to the corresponding fatty acid. In addition, fatty acid methyl esters are one of the important raw materials of industry, which can be used as biodiesel. The quality of biodiesel is deteminded by the fatty acid methyl esters composition. Bio diesel in our country is still an emerging industry in recent years, more and more businessmen began to bio diesel as their new profit growth point.As of2007,the size of bio diesel production plant more than2000China,annual production of hundreds of thousands of tons of. Fatty acid (ester) as the main components of the biodiesel,is very important to the accuracy of measured values.Therefore, the development of a standard reference material for fatty acid methyl esters is very important. The main work is included all of the following:1. Study on the efficiency of fatty acid methyl ester.Sulfuric acid-methanol method, sodium hydroxide-methanol method, boron trifluoride-methanol method, diazomethane trimethylsilyl method, and acetyl chloride-methanol, five kinds of FAME method were comparied. The acetyl chloride-methanol is the most efficient method of methyl ester;2. The preparation and purification of twenty-six FAME material.Twenty-six FAMEs were preparared by the acetyl chloride-methanol method and purified with mixed solvent recrystallization. The purity was greater than99%with gas chromatography and Potentiometric titration.3. The comparative solubility of FAMEs in different solventsSeven solvents were compared, and iso-octane was selected for the bigger solubility and high boiling point.4. The preparation of standard reference material of FAMEsThe mixed standard solution of fatty acid methyl ester was prepared by weight method. The impurities in mutually fatty acid methyl ester and corresponding uncertainty were evaluated.
