Thread detection is an important part of the modern industrial within the scope ofdetection, and the key to ensure the product quality. Following the improvement of theindustrial manufacturing technology and processing technology, it’s more and more highdemand for thread detection, high-precision, high efficiency, and convenient operation of thethread detection method has been very urgent needed, and there is a broad market prospect. Alarge number of research and production units are very need. In order to meet market demand,ensure product quality and production efficiency, this paper putting forward a kind ofnon-contact detection method that can measure small pitch of thread parameters, it will have ahighly cost performance, detection of complete function, high efficiency, high accuracy,moderate cost, and the advantage of simple operation.This paper focused on research the method of non-contact detection of small threadpitch parameters and develop corresponding measuring software. First, on the basis of threadimaging characteristics, designing closely accurate image acquisition and processing software,using this software to accurately capture the measured image, then researching and developingthe methods of automatic cycle for the real addendum, dedendum, the overall researchmethod will completely break down the traditional detection method of thread parameters,the measuring accuracy is improved greatly, detection become s fast and convenient.Secondly, considering both accuracy and cost, combined with the current equipment inthe laboratory, the reasonable choice and design of the associated with the measurementsystem hardware, and in the MATLAB7.11.0.584(R2010b) environment, based on machinevision, non-contact measurement and detection system for the software design. A set ofsuitable experimental platform was established for thread parameter of the non-contactmeasurement.Finally, for the system calibration and test research under the non contact measurement ofthread parameters established software, it is proved the non-contact measurement of threadparameters is an effective method, this paper can meet the requirements of measurement.
