Drum dryer is a large quantity, convenient operation and maintenance, wide applicabilityof drying equipment, in recent years it is widely used in processing mass and continuoussludge with high humidity and viscous. However, the process of drum drying sludge has ahigh energy consumption. In order to achieve high efficiency and energy saving of the processof drum drying sludge, this article adopts the method of experimental study and theoreticalanalysis to study the nature of sludge and the internal structure of the drum dryer, establishesthe heat and mass transfer model in the process of drum drying sludge, and analyzesinfluences of the process energy consumption of drum drying sludge, energy consumptionoptimization measures have been proposed.First of all, with the Zhengzhou city Wang Xinzhuang sewage treatment plant of wetbase moisture content80%of sludge as the experimental material, the experimental study isbased on searching drying characteristics of sludge granules in different sizes and dryingtemperature. Through analysis and processing of experimental dates, the calculation model ofsludge particle drying time can be concluded. From the point of energy, activation energy ofdifferent particle size of sludge can be calculated. It is concluded that different particle size ofsludge shall be carried out at different drying temperature. At the same time, on theexperimental study of the characteristics of wall sticking of the sludge particle, something canbe known from the analysis of test datas, sludge particle wet base moisture content is30%to40%at the ending of wall sticking of the sludge particles. Sludge particles sticking wall timecan be calculated by the sludge particles drying time model. In the process of sludge particledrying, the energy consumption of sludge particle sticking wall reduces the heat utilizationrate of sludge particle. In order to make the maximum heat utilization rate of sludge particle,sludge particle sticking wall should be avoided. The calculation model of the sludge particlesdrying time and sticking wall time provide theoretical support for installation and layout ofinternal structure of the drum dryer. Further, The lifting and casting model of flight in the internal structure of drum dryer hasbeen established by theoretical analysis. Based on five types of flight lifting and castingcomparative study, the study find it suitable in the front part inside the drum dryer to set type2flight and in the back part inside the drum dryer to set type5flight. The study found that thebiggest holding capacity of70%-90%of flight have been scattered before the rotation angleof drum reaching to90degrees. Type2flight and type5flight of lifting and castingcharacteristic are better of all, type2flight have a more easier dispersion for wet sludgeparticles, type5flight have a more better lifting and casting characteristic, but worsedispersion effect. To effectively avoid the sludge particle sticking wall, set crushing plate inthe inside of drum dryer.Then, use the3D software of SolidWorks to establish a realistic geometric model ofdrum dryer, lead the drum dryer geometric model into CFX of Ansys Workbench, set up fluiddomain for flow field numerical simulation, and get the speed and temperature distribution ofdrying medium. Calculated by CFD, internal flow field in drum dryer is relatively stable.Drying medium in the process of the flow inside the drum was affected by drum wall,crushing plate, shoveling plate. Turbulent flow intensifies, accelerating the heat and masstransfer between the heat flow and wet material, enhances energy utilization, reduce energyconsumption.on the basis of actual geometric model of drum drier, the heat and mass transfer model ofthe drum sludge drying has been established. And then analyzes influences of energyconsumption in the process of drum drying sludge for optimizing the energy consumption ofdrum dryer to provide theoretical basis and references.
