Spin glasses are magnetic systems in which long-range orders are destroyed into short-range orders. Materials presenting spin glass behavior are competitive candidates for new generation storage materials due to their unique magnetic properties which is referred as "spin frozen". Spin glass materials with high concentration of magnetic atoms have not been thoroughly explored currently, although the spin frozen phenomenon was observed in many materials, its mechanism is still not clear.Pr2CuSi3,which shows spin glass behavior and has high concentration of magnetic atom Pr, was chose and mainly studied on the influence of the change of grain size on its physical properties in this paper. Si based ternary alloy Pr2CuSi3samples were prepared by arc melting, compression deformation was completed by electronic universal testing machine, annealing was completed in vacuum sintering furnace for different time to get Pr2CuSi3samples with larger size grains. Phase composition was measured by XRD and Energy dispersive X-Ray Spectrometer (EDX), the grain size was studied by Metallographic microscope. Physical property measurement system (PPMS) was used to measure the magnetic property, the results indicated:1. The grain size in Pr2CuSi3samples can effectively promoted by the repeated pressure-annealing treatment, and the content can reach more than95%.2. The face in profile and the transverse section of the samples suffer different compression values, when compressed on the samples, so the grain sizes in different areas make a difference after same thermal treatment condition.3. Through the study on the condition of grain growth in Pr2CuSi3samples compressed at different stress value and then annealed, the best stress value was19.10MPa, and the growth rate reached194.11%.4. Compressed the Pr2CuSi3sample and then annealed for different time. Through the statistical grain size and calculation on growth rate, the best annealing time was192hours.5. The result of the study on ac magnetic susceptibility indicated that spin glass phenomenon was existent in Pr2CuSi3samples and the freezing temperature was improved with growth of the grain size.
