Coal is the primary energy for the industry in China. This industrial structure has created enormous social wealth, but it has caused some severe environmental pollution. According to the statistics, the mount of smoke from coal combustion is approximate70percentages per year. With the updated environmental protection standard, it is an inevitable trend to transform the ESP, employed in controlling the flue gas from coal-fired power stations boiler, into the Electric-Bag Compound Dust Collector (EBCDC), and the EBCDC is the best choice for the project reformation.EBCDC is combined the advantage of ESP and Fabric Filter (FF), and it is gaining rapid popularization. However, the mechanism of particles capturing of electric-bag hybrid has not been seen systematically researched. Based on the theory of particles charging, fiber filtration and static enhance fiber filtration, the whole research plan is designed, the experimental device is established, and the systematic experiment has been done to study on the charging of dust layer, particles coagulation, and the dynamic filtration of charged particles in this paper.The results show that particles contacting and coagulation is happened for the charged particles, and with the increasing of the electric field voltage, the phenomena are more obvious. Compared with the fly ash coagulation, the effect of alumina coagulation is more apparent under the same electric field. At the same filtration time, the pressure drop and its rise rate of the filter media gradually reduce with the increasing of the electric field voltage. Under the same cleaning number, with increasing of electric field voltage, the residual dust load of filter media increases, which leads the increasing of the residual pressure drop of filter media. Therefore, the cleaning effects of filter media are unfavorable, under a certain cleaning number of charged particles. However, for the charged particles, the cleaning cycle is sufficiently extended, and the amount of dust processing more, so the dust load of filter media is lower with the increasing of the electric field. That is, it is more useful and valuable for the charged particles under the same amount of dust processing.This study provides certain theoretical guidance and technical support for the application of EBCDC, aim at making some contribution to the environmental pollution controlling.
