As a new type of membrane separation technology, Membrane distillation coupled cooling crystallization is widely used in wastewater treatment, pure water preparation and medicine concentration because of containing lots of advantages as below:waste heat available, capacity of treating highly concentration solutions, mild operation conditions and etc, which has broad application prospects. This research aimed to discuss the feasibility and economic rationality of the procedure treating industrial alkaline waste water through membrane distillation coupled cooling crystallization technology.This research work mainly investigated the effect of membrane area of module, feed concentration, inlet feed flow rate, inlet feed temperature, and fluid flow type on trans-membrane flux to reflect the membrane performance through module performance optimization, interval concentration of desalinization and continuous operation of membrane distillation coupled crystallization. According to material balance, the procedure turned out to be achieved continuous operation without discharge in alkaline waste water treatment by reasonable inlet feed supplement and outlet feed production. The membrane distillation coupled crystallization technology was verified to be feasible in alkaline wastewater treatment through result findings.The research carried out the simulation derivation and program calculation which turned out the experimental values had the high degree to match the theoretical values to the membrane distillation verifying applicability of this analog computation to the process. The theoretical calculation obtained the variation of temperatures and vapor pressures in both sides of the membrane along the membrane module axial distribution.On this foundation, regarding to economic standards, energy balance calculation and chemical equipment design as calculation basis, investment cost and pure water production cost were evaluated under the production capacity of5m3wastewater per hour through membrane distillation coupled cooling crystallization in alkaline wastewater treatment. Total investment cost was1920000yuan and the alkaline wastewater treatment cost was23.32yuan per stere as evaluation. Glauber salt which was another part product from the membrane distillation coupled cooling crystallization could be sold at the price of34.71yuan per stere for profit.The research findings above have certain instructional sense to the condition optimization, industrial design and production in the treatment of alkaline wastewater by membrane distillation coupled cooling crystallization.
