The characteristics of Puguang gas reservoir is complex, which is deeply buried,thickness and strong heterogeneity.The recovery degree is lowly when the waterbreakthrough, it is showed that edge water relatively active and increased the difficultyof long-term stable and highly efficient development. In order to detect dynamiccharacteristics of water invasion, clear that the influence of edge wate, research thewater control measures and achieve highly efficient development target, therefore toconduct Research of the water invasion law and water control measures in mainreservoir of Puguang gas field. The paper based on gas reservoir engineering theory,mathematical physics equations, seepage mechanics and gas reservoir numericalsimulation theories, researched the law of water invasion and put forward the watercontrol measures.The main work and achievements are as follows:The paper conducted water invasion identification, water influx size calculation,water body size calculationand water activity evaluation research. The results showedthat: by2014, the gas reservoir of water invasion has occurred, water influx size is0.2107×108m3, edge water underground volume is18.10×108m3, water ratio is4.53times, and the edge water is more active.The paper conducted water distribution, water invasion model, influencing factorsof the water invasion and water invasion direction research, get the law of waterinvasion.The results showed that: the main water invasion model of the reservoir islongitudinal transverse invasion compound, the edge water breakthrough phenomenonis obvious in T1f1~T2f2section, and transverse from east to west, aroundP204-2H~P304-1has a tendency to invading from southeast.The paper established numerical simulation model of the reservoir, and study theinfluence of edge water to the gas reservoir development. The results showed that:Simulated20years of the gas reservoir production, affected by edge water, the gasreservoir production plateau shortens0.83years and the predicted final recovery degreeby3.64%reduction.The paper conducted water invasion characteristics and water production featuresresearch, put forward the optimized allocation and plugging of water controlmeasures.The research results showed that: Simulated20years of the gas reservoirproduction, the water invasion is show transverse and edge water invasion characteristics, on the longitudinal, the edge water breakthrough phenomenon isobvious at T1f1~T2f2section. The water production stage can be divided into highyielding and low yielding phase. By implementing the optimized allocation andplugging of water control measures, the production plateau of the gas reservoir is0.21years longer, the stable yield of the gas reservoir increase by0.4%, the final recoverydegree of the gas reservoir increase by5.22%, the development effect of the gasreservoir improve obviously.
