Nowdays, a lot of strong corrosiveness, uneasy to recycle inorganic acid are used in chemical industries which resulting inserious environment pollution. Ionic liquids, considered as novel solvents or catalysts compounded functionalized materials have been widely used in organic reactions because of their unique chemical and physical properties of low melting points, high thermally stability, controlled miscibility, nonvalatility, moderate acidity or alkalescence and so on.A HSO3-functionalized acidic inioc liquid ([C3SO3Hnhm]HSO4) was prepared and characterized using’H-NMR, TG, IR and potentiometric methods. The [C3SO3Hnhm]HSO4ionic liquid used as acidic catalyst for the synthesis of cyclohexanone ethylene ketal. And, the operating conditions for the preparation of cyclohexanone ethylene ketal in the presence of the [C3SO3Hnhm]HSO4catalyst were optimized. The experimental results showed that the [C3SO3Hnhm]HSO4catalyst was excellent catalytic activity. The conversion and selectivity for the preparation of cyclohexanone ethylene ketal were99%and100%, respectively. The catalytic activity after five-time uses does not obvious decrease. The advantages of the method for the preparation of cyclohexanone ethylene ketal in the presence of the [C3SO3Hnhm]HSO4catalyst were simple work-up procedure, short reaction time and high yields.In order to overcome the drawback of inioc liquid with the complicated recovery and repeated use, silica-immobilized acidic ionic liquid was prepared by graftage method and characterized using TG^IR^potentiometric method. The silica-immobilized acidic ionic liquid used as acidic catalyst for the synthesis of cyclohexanone ethylene ketal. The preparation conditions of catalysts and the operating conditions for the preparation of cyclohexanone ethylene ketal in the presence of the catalyst were optimized. The experimental results showed that the silica-immobilized acidic ionic liquids exhibited excellent catalytic activity.Silica-immobilized acidic ionic liquid ([C3SO3Hnhm]HSO4/silica gel) was prepared by silica sol-gel method and characterized using TG、IR、 potentiometric method. The silica-immobilized acidic ionic liquid ([C3SO3Hnhm]HSO4/silica gel) used as acidic catalyst for the synthesis of cyclohexanone ethylene ketal. The operating conditions for the preparation of cyclohexanone ethylene ketal in the presence of the catalyst were optimized. The results showed that the catalyst had several advantages such as excellent yields, short reaction times and simple procedure. The catalyst could be recycled and reused at least five times without noticeably decrease in catalytic activity.
