This article focuses on the reaction mechanism of the limestone wet flue gas desulfurization and strengthening mechanism of organic acids (salts) on the desulfurization process. At present, nearly400million kw coal power plants desulphurization system have been put into production in our country, and95%of them adopt limestone-gypsum wet flue desulfurization. Because of the difference between the actual operating conditions and design conditions, it’s difficult for the desulfurization systems to run economically and effectively. The desulfurization additives was considered to be the most promising desulfurization regulation technology for its less investment, simpler operation and not have to make any changes to the system. The system can run stably and be energy-efficient by just controlling the amount of additives. So the research on additives is of great significance.Considering the price and characteristic of various organic acids, we selected adipic acid, citric acid and sodium citrate as additives in the research. A series of experiments were carried out with the instrument designed and built in the lab to find the optimum additive with comparative methods. First, desulfurization effects of adipic acid and citric acid were measured and compared with that of compound additives with sodium sulfate added into the above two organic acids, respectively. Changes of SO2removal efficiency η and ApH with process time t, the relation of η and pH value were experimentally determined. The results showed that adipic acid or citric acid with sodium sulfate had better desulfurization effects. Then adipic acid with citric acid or sodium citrate as compound additives were tested in the limestone desulfurization process. By comparing the desulfurization effects of the compound additives with the purchased additives, a conclusion can be made:the compound additive of3mmol/L adipic acid and2mmol/L sodium citrate had the similar desulfurization effect with the purchased additives.
