These years, new innovations and creations constantly come up as the development of science and technology and progress of human civilization. New products are continuously upgrading during a short time in application area. But in other hand, in traditional industry especially in heavy industry the speed of products upgrading is some more slow which is due to limited users’ demands and high investing cost. But in the long run and in the point of sustainable development, these products also need upgrading and recreating, whose old technological process need in the same way, which benefits the social development.The update and recreation are especially slow in iron industry whose some old processes and equipments were used in ten years or several decades, which waists lots of resources and seriously pollutes the environment.Based on the situation, we need new equipments to displace the old ones, So this thesis discusses a new steelmaking equipment——the travelling grate, which can improve the quality of the steel and usage efficiency of the resource, and promote the energy conservation and emission reduction and the environmental improvement.The thesis researches on the travelling grate and simply introduces some related pellet processes to help people understand, and analyzes its work principle from theory to actual structure to farther optimizing.The main content of the thesis as follows:First, we introduce some pellet processes related to the grate.Second, we choose a typical travelling grate to analyze its work principle from its mechanical structure to the influence exerted on actual conditions, to its-self changing on the running situation.Third, we introduce its structure features and analyze its parts. The main parts analyzes with normal mechanical and SOLID WORKS methods, from theory to direct-view.Last, we optimize the main group parts, reduce cost of part and improve market competition.
