Fiber Reinforced Polymer/Plastic(short for FRP) is a new type of structural material which gets a lot of attention for its outstanding properties,and it plays an important role in structure reinforcement and composite structures. In recent years, the self-sensing properties of composites get widespread attention at home and abroad, it is also used to sense the stress state of structure and enable structural health monitoring. Carbon nanofiber (CNF) has excellent physical properties as mechanical, thermal and electrical properties, and good chemical stability, also it has sub micron diameter and high length to diameter ratio, which is an excellent kind of filler to prepare a self-sensing FRP CompositesAdding CNF into the epoxy resin becomes an effective means to prepare self-sensing composite materials, But the researches in the aspect of CNF resin matrix composites are rare, there is still a certain gap from the practical application. Research on sensing properties of CNF composite materials is very necessaryIn the light of the main problems in the research of CNF polymer matrix composite materials, this paper selects CNF as reinforced materials, and epoxy resin as the matrix material, by exploring the dispersion of CNF in the epoxy resin matrix to study the improvement of the composites on the physical properties, including mechanical, electrical and self-sensing properties. And further, we dope CNF with continuous carbon fiber and basalt fiber/epoxy resin composite materials to explore the relationship between resistance and strain, to study the possibility of a material structure monitoring. The main research contents are as follows:Through the comparison of mechanical properties of CNF/epoxy resin composites with different content fillers, we confirmed the effect of CNF on the mechanical properties of the composites, and confirm the best content that can improve the mechanical properties of composite materials furthest under this laboratory conditions.Through the relationship between content and resistance, we draw the percolation curve and find out the percolation zone, also several experiments is conducted to study on the effect of temperature on the resistance.Tensile and cyclic loading on the composite material is conducted to study the self-sensing properties of CNF/epoxy resin composites, and further adding CNF into CFRP and BFRP structure to test its feasibility as sensing materials to health monitoring...
