The coatings derived from perhydropolysilazane (PHPS) have shown highapplication potential in the field of electron device, insulation material, plasticpackaging, anti-corrosion of metal and solar cell, which have been widely studiedand developed in developed countries. However, the research is limited in China.In this work, we prepared SiON coating with PHPS produced in our lab asprecursor and PSZ and SiO2as modifyed materials. The fudamental properties ofthe SiON coatings were also well studied. The main work and results aresummarized as follow:Preparation of organic-inorganic coating material. PZPS precursor wasprepared with PHPS and PSZ by physical blending. Based on the well-characterized of PZPS structure, composite organic-inorganic coatings with athickness range of2.4~3.4μm were prepared by dipping on the slide. The effectof PZPS structure on the performances of coatings was investigated. The resultssuggested that PZPS contained CH3, the content of CH3was increased with theamount of PSZ. When the mass of PSZ and PHPS was greater than1:4, the faultmorphology of the coatings were dense, homogeneous, without cracks, and thethicknesses were increased with the growth of PSZ content. PZPS coatings werehighly transparent with their transmissivities over95%before and after treatedat600℃for1h. The contanct angles of PZPS coatings were above105°.Thecoatings perfected anti-graffiti properties. When the mass of PSZ and PHPS waslower than1:3, the surface hardness were above9H. With the increase of PSZcontents, the scratch resistance became worse.Research on the modification of perhydropolysilazane with silicananoparticles. Treated and untreated SiO2nanoparticles were respectivelyutilized to modify PHPS, the influence of different SiO2with different content onthe coating microstructure, optical properties, surface properties and mechanicalproperties was studied. The results showed that the introduction of SiO2improved the adhesion between coating and slide, but there were lots of particul- ate impurities on the surface. The coatings still had excellent transmissivities andanti-scratch properties. When the content of SiO2reached0.5%, the coatingchanged from hydrophobicity to hydrophilicity. In this work, we modified SiO2with HMDS, then obtained the coatings with PHPS and m-SiO2, the thicknessranged from4.9μm to49.5μm. Besides, the dispersion of m-SiO2in the organicphase had been significantly improved.
