Magnesium is widely used in automobile、aviation、aerospace and other industries andbecause it have high strengthen. Because Mg-Al-Sn cast magnesium alloys mechanicalproperties is usually low now, facing this problem and adjust Al and Zn elements in this page.Developing a new type Mg-Al-Sn-Zn cast magnesium alloy, this experiment includeoptimizing the process above by metallographic analysis, SEM analysis and EDS spectrumanalysis and XRD diffraction theory analysis and alloys static mechanical properties becomea good room temperature.Sn is expensive and adding it in the alloy2wt%, and2wt%Sn is important content ofthe high heat resistance, so alloy is based by2wt.%Sn. Microstructure and mechanicalproperties is influenced by Al and Zn. First the research is Mg-xAl-2Sn-0Zn alloy and addAl elements namely2wt.%、4wt.%、6wt.%and8wt.%, and discussing Al content inMg-Al-Sn-Zn of the effect of the microstructure and mechanical properties. With increasingAl in Mg-Al-Sn-Zn alloy, the tensile properties and the yield performance and elongation ofMg-Al-Sn-Zn magnesium alloy are improvement in the continuous. Mg-8Al-2Sn tensilestrength is176MPa, yield strength is up to139MPa and the yield rate reached3.3%.This page is based in2wt%Sn and6wt%in Mg-Al-Sn-Zn alloys, add Zn elements toalloy namely1wt.%、2wt.%、3wt.%and4wt.%, and discussing Zn content in Mg-Al-Sn-Znof the effect of the microstructure and mechanical properties. The research found that adding3%Zn elements to alloy, the tensile strengthen and the yield strength are the highest, thetensile mechanical properties is up to181MPa, the yield strength is up to137MPa.Mg-Al-Sn-Zn magnesium cast alloy is cured solid solution by12h/350℃andrespectively aging strengthening2、4、8、16and24hours. The research found hardness valueincrease from2h to16h, and the hardness values decrease from16hours to24h.Mg-6Al-2Sn-3Zn is cured solid solution by12h/350℃and respectively aging strengthening16hours, alloys’ tensile strength reach the peak at261.8MPa, the yield strength of themaximum value is up to177.6MPa and the yield can rate up to7.2%.
