Argon gas can effectively isolate the surrounding air, and insoluble in metal itself, notmetal reaction during TIG welding production. Welding arc could automatically remove theworkpiece surface oxide film. Therefore, it could be welding successfully easy oxidation,nitride, chemical strong lively non-ferrous metal, stainless steel and various alloy, the nuclearpower station and aerospace or other fields has been widely used. But the TIG welding wasexisting problems that the energy of arc diverged easily, shallow melt depth, deposition ratewas slowly, the productivity was low. Once the welding speed excessively increases, thedefects of weld hump or bite edge would appear. In order to improve the TIG weldingtechnology, this paper put forward a kind of method of applying longitudinal magnetic field tocontrol the arc motion, the experiments has proved that it changed the shape of the arc,improved the weld width and depth of molten, also could control the flow of the molten poolof metal liquid and heat transfer law, etc. In this paper, the arc pressure affected by magneticfield has been carried on the detailed research and analyzed the rule of magnetic inductionintensity and magnetic field frequency about the welding arc, and analyzed the mechanism ofit. It had theoretical meaning and great value of practical application.This paper, the influence law of the magnetic field frequency on the heat distribution wasobtained by using homemade split anode device for arc heat test. Using self-madewater-cooled copper anode arc pressure test, it was concluded that the law of the magneticinduction intensity and magnetic field frequency effect on the pressure distribution. Using highspeed camera to arc shape, it was concluded that the influence law of the longitudinalmagnetic field on arc shape. With the method of spectral diagnosis calculation under differentmagnetic field parameters arc temperature, the experimental results showed that theperformance of the arc under the magnetic field compared with a free arc was improvedsignificantly higher. The temperature of the arc was increased13391.42K to14136.34K thanby the free arc, the coefficient of heat distribution was increased by about13%, andsignificantly reduced the rotation radius of arc, the form was compressed from the original cone into cylindrical. When the welding current was95A, magnetic induction intensity was30mT, the magnetic field frequency was1550Hz.Through the weld experiment showed that the longitudinal magnetic field used in thewelding arc, the seam forming changed good. The depth of fusion could be increasedsignificantly, the organization structure of weld joint was wee and uniformity, and the finegrains was obviously by adjusting the parameters of the magnetic field.
