Slime water treatment is the key technological process for the coal preparati on plants.Due to the abundant of the fine clay minerals with the negatively char ged in coal slime water.Leading to that the highly-argillized coal slurry are so di fficult to sedimentate. Studying of the adsorption properties of the different catio ns on the surface of the slime particle, providing the basis for the selection of t he reagent for the slime water treatment.And it has important theoretical significa nee and practical value.The types and dosage of the different cations, the mixing time,the ph of the slurry and some others factors are studied by single factor experiments for the i nfluence law of the adsorption property on the surface of the coal particles of th e different metal cations. The kinetics of the adsorption of the different cations were studied. The adsorption property and mechanism on the surface of the coal particles of the different metal cations are analysised.The conclusions can be shown as follows:With the increasing of the reaction time,the adsorption quantity of potassium、 sodium、. Calcium and magnesium c ations by coal particles all have increased and finally achieve the adsorption equi librium.The time of the adsorption equilibrium is about30minutes.With the incr easing of the concentration of the ion, the adsorption quantity of potassium catio ns、 sodium cations、 Calcium cations and magnesium cations by coal particles al1have increased.lt is more obviously when the concentration of the ion is lower. The adsorption of potassium cations is better than sodium cations and the adsor ption of Calcium cations is better than magnesium cations so on.To potassium ca tions and sodium cations,when the pH is lower than7.3,the adsorption quantity will be more and more with the increase of the pH.But when the pH is higher t han7.3, the adsorption quantity will be decreased obviously.To Calcium cations a nd magnesium cations,when the pH is lower than9.4,the adsorption quantity is more and more.And in the scope of7.5to9.4,the increase is so significantly. W hile the pH increases to higher than9.4, the adsorption capacity will decrease sli ghtly. The weak alkaline solution chemical environment of slurry cation adsorptio n is beneficial.The adsorption of potassium cations and sodium cations on the s urface of the coal slime conforms to the Lagergren first order kinetics equation. The adsorption of Calcium cations and magnesium cations on the surface of the coal slime conforms to the dynamics equation of Lagergren secondary.
