As the final step of the steel production process, the seamless steel pipe reducingprocess determines the quality of the final product precision tubes. In order to avoid avariety of rolling defects of finished pipe, the steel reducing process must be studieddeeply. The various parameters design methods of the pipe reducing process wereanalyzed. The steel reducing variation in the deformation process was researched, thusthe pipe reducing process was further optimized.In this paper, the deformation process of Ф128mm×20mm tube was reduced by10racks to Ф102mm×22mm finished pipe was sudied. The main contents include thefollowing aspects:(1)The relevant deformation parameters was determined by the steel tensionreducing deformation theory. The10rack roll pass was designed based on the passdesign method. Tension coefficient and pipe wall thickness of each rack weredistribution. The rolling force of each rack suffered was calculate. The results indicatedthat the frame suffered rolling force fluctuated around20~60KN. The tensionreduction process program was preparation to shorten the design process of tensionreduction parameters.(2)The three-dimensional model of the fram was established and simulated. Thedeformation of the frame at the maximum rolling force was analyzed. The resultsindicated that the deformation of the rack was small and it meet the productionrequirements basically. The structure of the frame was improved and examined. Theresults showed that the frame deformation increasing small but loss weight significantly.It shouws that the structure improved of the frame was reasonable and effective. Thedynamic characteristics of the rack was studied. The frame was extracted of the mainmodes and vibration frequencies by modal analysis, and analyzed the vibration law of it.(3)The steel reducing model was established and simulated in ANSYS/LS-DYNA.The stress and strain, wall thickness and outside diameter variation of steel in theprocess of reducing was analyzed. The reasons of steel produced uneven wall thicknessand outside diameter were discussed.The results provided a rich theoretical basis for the actual production to improvethe steel tension reducing process and enhance the dimensional accuracy of the finishedtube.
