In order to solve the problem of high iron content in leaching solution of Zincore produced from a Smelting company. The leaching solution of Zinc ore in goethitewas investigated, the main content includes: The optimum technical condition for ironremoval was explored. The principle of the iron removal by goethite was researchedand analyzed. The composition of the phases and the elements of the iron-sinking slagwere detected.By adding a new kind of additive, removal of iron from leaching solution of Zincore by goethite process was studied systemically. The effects of reaction temperature, solution pH, the amount of oxidant and the types of neutralizer on removal of ironwere investigated. The entire element component, particle size characteristics, mineralform and occurrence state of iron-sinking slag produced from experiment werecharacterized. The phase analysis showed that the main component of iron-sinkingslag was goethite. The test results show that at the optimum conditions of reaction temperature of95℃, pH value of4.8, hydrogen peroxide of16.7mL/L, reaction time of5h and agingtime of2h, the final result shows that the concentration of iron ions filtrate dropped to0.08mg/L. Over99.99%of iron ions removal rate was achieved in the case of the lossrate at about0.6%of zinc. The test results show that this kind of goethite inhydrometallurgy was feasible, the method meets the requirement of industrial practicewith high iron ions removal rate.
