The calcining zone temperature is the most import parameter during cement clinkerburning process, which directly affects such economic indicators as quality of cementclinker and energy consumption. However, due to burning environmental factors, thetemperature can only be gotten by artificial experience and this is harm to optimizationof rotary kiln operation and reducing energy consumption. Therefore, realization ofcalcining zone temperature online is of great significance to ensure the cement clinkerquality and improve the energy efficiency.Aiming at this practical problem, analysis of cement clinker burning system, softsensor modeling and realization of software are discussed in this paper. The detail worksare as follow:(1)Determine the research route by analyzing the cement firing process. In order toobtain the calcining zone temperature, firstly, build the clinker f-CaO content soft sensormodel, then get the temperature by the function relation between clinker f-CaO contentand calcining zone temperature.(2)Aiming at clinker f-CaO content soft sensor modeling, select the instrumentalvariables by analyzing the cement clinker burning mechanism and GRA theory.Considering the nonlinear, big lag, and time-varying characteristics of rotary kiln, usethe LSSVM as the core algorithm of the soft sensor modeling by analyzing theadvantages and disadvantages of various kinds of modeling method and simulationexperiments.(3)Considering the limitations of global model in prediction accuracy, put forwarda clinker f-CaO content soft measurement model based on local PSO-LSSVM algorithm.Through training and validation, this model has better prediction ability andgeneralization performance than the global model.(4)Aiming at the relationship between calcining zone temperature and clinkerf-CaO contents, establish a liner model between them by summarizing the experience ofthe experts. The simulation results show that the calcining zone temperature obtained bythe algorithm can follow the changing trend of the real temperature and meet the precision requirement.(5)The temperature measurement software is designed and used in the productionprocess. It can not only provide with accurate temperature data, but also reduce thelabor intensity, ensure the clinker quality, increase the energy utilization.
