Nitrogen-contained organic compounds are widespread throughout nature andwidely used in the field of medicine, biology, materials, etc. And some of the kinds ofreactions they undergo are encountered frequently in organic synthesis. Currently, imines and amides are usually prepared by the catalysis of transition metal, whichmay result in some problem such as waste disposal, the cost of synthesis. Therefore,it’s significant to develop an efficient, green method for the synthesis of imines andamides. This article will focus on the composition of amine derivatives and be dividedinto two parts. One part is for the synthesis of imines unde Fe catalyzed with theoxidation and condensation of amines or amines and alcohols, and the other one is forthe research of the synthesis of amides.Firstly, the synthesis methods of research progress in imine compounds in recentyears were summarized. And we developed a variety of synthetic methods for targetwith an innovative Fe-TEMPO catalyst systems, and achieved imine compoundsunder mild conditions in air.In the second part, the research progress of the synthesis method of amides isreviewed. And we exploited step by step and one-pot synthesis of amides undercatalysis of CsOH. Hence this catalytic system is of green and economical byavoiding using some of the expensive transition metals.
