For Metal-Ceramic Composites with high strength, high surface hardness,wear-resisting performance and high temperature resistance, which is widely used andnoted in industry. But in the aspect of technology of preparation of TiCN metal ceramiccomposite materials,there are some factors such as complex process、high equipment cost、as well as to the requirements of higher professional and technical personnel,etc.For thisreason It is extremely urgent to explore a more effective way of simple process, low cost,simplicity of operator of preparation of TiCN metal ceramic composite materials.In this paper,using the technology of reaction nitrogen arc cladding,which combinenitrogen arc surfacing technology with in-situ synthesized technology,N2was ionized bythe high temperature of nitrogen arc cladding,which reacts with molten precoating powdermaterials,TiCN enhancement phase was synthesised on the substrate.The macro morphology and thickness, microstructure morphology and structure,coating cracks and pores、the forming principle and process of TiCN coating were analyzedwhen the technology (powder composition matching, flowing of nitrogen gas, claddingcurrent, cladding speed) parameters were changed. The results show that The best ratio ofpowder (Fe:C:Ti) is1:1:1, the intensity of diffraction peaks of the phase of FeTi0.03isstrongest, this moment the content of N element is maximum,the phenomenon ofdenitrification is avoided; The best nitrogen flow is20L/min, the best cladding current is200A, the best cladding rate is2mm/min, the molding of the The microstructure of thecladding layer is good, which distribute between dendrites, the maximum microhardness ofcoating has four times than matrix hardness, the abrasion resistance of coating is excellent,there is no cracks and pores in the coating.The wear-resisting performance of TiCN coating was analyzed, thewear-resisting property coating and matrix was analyzed by the reciprocating friction andwear tester, It turned out that the wear-resisting property of coating was much better thanthe matrix, The friction coefficient and wear weightlessness of coating was about fivetimes than matrix. The Al powders was mixed in the powder configuration, there is nottoo big change of the wear-resisting performance of coating, the hard phase composition ofcoatings is becomed from TiCN to TiAl(CN).The application of TiCN coating in agricultural tools was studied, the tool life andeconomic costs was analyzed, results indicated that the service life of tool was improvedobviously and the tool cost was reduced greatly.
