Firstly, CaTiO3:Pr3+based pearlescent pigments with fluorescent (UAD-FPP-CTO:Pr) were prepared by ultrasonic-assisted dispersion technique combined with calcination method. The results show that the sample obtained from TiO2-mica pearlescent pigments with calcium oxide cladding ratio of5.3%and the molar ratio of praseodymium/calcium nitrate of0.2%by calcinating at900℃for150min gives a narrow particle size distribution (the average diameter:24.34μm) with a homogeneous, dense and smooth surface. It gives a white color under the natural light. The characteristic color (L*, a*, b*) of the sample is (89.03,-1.29,1.00). The maximum emission wavelength is a red light of613nm under the excitation of ultraviolet at304nm, corresponding to the transition for1D2â†'3H4. The average fluorescent lifetime is154.50μs.Secondly, a layer of titanium dioxide and a layer of Pr-doped calcium hydroxide were deposited on the surface of mica by alkaline neutralization method combined with calcination method to obtain a Pr-doped calcium titanates fluorescent layer for preparation of fluorescent pearlescent pigments (ANM-FPP-CTO:Pr). It is clear that the sample have good pearl property with a homogeneous, dense and smooth surface, the fluorescence intensity of pearlescent pigments were strong if the sample was prepared at flow rate0.04mL/min, pH10.5, reaction temperature75℃, calcium oxide cladding ratio5.3%, molar ratio of praseodymium/calcium nitrate0.2%, and calcinating at900℃for150min. The average diameter of the resultant sample is23.82μm, and (L*, a*, b*) is (90.68,0.70,0.91). The average fluorescent lifetime is273.72μs.Thirdly, zinc chloride, calcium nitrate and praseodymium nitrate were employed as precussor to prepare fluorescent pearlescent pigments with Pr-doped (Ca, Zn)TiO3fluorescent layer by alkaline neutralization method combined with calcination technique (ANM-FPP-CZTO:Pr). The optimum preparation conditions were obtained with dosage ratio of Ca(NO3)2/ZnCl238/2, flow rate0.06mL/min, reaction temperature65℃and pH8.0. The sample obtained at the conditions increases its red luminescence intensity by30.9%with an average fluorescent lifetime of397.19μs.Finaly, CN resin was used as a binder, self-made fluorescent pearlescent pigments, HL alkyd resin, wax powder and high boiling point kerosene as experimental materials to prepare the printing inks with fluorescent and pearlescent pigment. The viscoelastic properties were studied on a rheometer. The results show that the ink systems give a typical viscoelastic behavior. The storage modulus and loss modulus of the various pearlescent inks are increased gradually by increase in the frequency. However, the increment rates are different in different systems. It is also clear that, the ΔEab*of UAD-FPP-CTO:Pr pearlescent inks, ANM-FPP-CTO:Pr pearlescent inks and ANM-FPP-CZTO:Pr pearlescent inks compare with TiO2-mica pearlescent inks are3.13,1.85and3.35, and reduced ratio of the lustrousness are57.8%,18.5%and39.1%respectively.
