Based on the research of carbonylative methodology, a catalysis system with Co2(CO)8/LiCl as catalyst/cocatalyst was developed to realize the carbonylative cyclization of epoxide and imine.1. This is a simple, atom economic and highly effective catalysis system, which produces cyclic lactams by carbonylations.2. The chemical structures and stereo structures were characterized by1H NMR,13C NMR, DEPT,1H,1H-COSY and1H,1H-NOESY. The reaction conditions were also optimized.3. The substrates scope was investigated, and a series of imines and epoxides were subjected to this reaction.
