The rapid development of the economy and the improvement of people’s living standard bring the problem of the electronic wastes, which is because of the life of the electronic equipment become shorter than before. As an important part of the electronic wastes, the treatment of waste printed circuit boards (WPCBs) become more and more urgentThere are many ways to treat the WPCBs now. However, each way has its limitation. Pyrolysis, as a way to treat the WPCBs, can recycle the metal components and the non-metal components. Also it’s environmental than many other ways. However, this way is not so mature. In this paper, the pyrolysis of the WPCBs was studied and a complete way to recycle the resource was put forward. An experimental study of the pyrolysis of the wasted printed circuit board was carried out in a self-developed vacuum pyrolyzer and the pyrolysis products were collected. The component of the pyrolysis oil was analyzed by GC-MS and the component of the pyrolysis gas was analyzed by GC. The difference of the component of different distillates of pyrolysis oil was also analyzed. Also the changes of the formation of the pyrolysis gas with the increase of the temperature were analyzed. The combustion properties of methane were analyzed by the fludized-bed furnace. The effect of temperature, resistant time and the concentration of methane on methane conversion were studied. Also the effect of the reaction conditions on the production of CO was studied. The reaction mechanism of the combustion of methane was analyzed by CHEMKIN. The GRI-3.0mechanism was chosen and the simulation was done with the Closed Homogeneous Batch Reactor. The results of the simulation were compared with that of experiments and the similarities and differences were studied. Also the reaction was studied by the sensitivity analyses and the ROP analyses.A system to dispose the WPCBs was designed based on the conclusions before. The energy balance of the system was analyzed.
