Titanium alloy are widely used in military industries, civilian products and in othervarious fields due to their exceptional performance such as high specific strength, strongcorrosion resistance, heat resistance and good compatibility,etc. But the use in key parts isrestricted to the poor abrasion resistance and low hardness. In order to improve the wearresistance of titanium alloy, this paper attempts to research on laser-cladding CBN in titaniumalloy surface. The study will provide a theoretical support and experimental research to cladhigh melting point materials later. In this paper, the main contents include theoretical analysisof laser cladding, finite element analysis of temperature field, experimental study and thedilution rate:Firstly, the theory of laser cladding technology are described and researched in this paper,including laser interaction with materials, characteristic analysis of molten pool, themechanism of melting and solidification of the material as well as the causes and control ofcracks. It has played a guiding significance to the research and experiment of late. On thebasis of theoretical analysis, finite element model of temperature field is built, and has studiedthe influence of process parameters on temperature field, at the same time the characteristicsare intuitively recognized of the laser-clad CBN temperature field.Combined with theoretical analysis and simulation analysis of temperature field, thispaper uses the orthogonal experimental to research based on the preset powder feeding ofsingle-channel scanning. Through the use of binder free, alcohol, sodium silicate (water glass)as a binder for the preset three different processes were compared with experimental. Underthe same circumstances, the experimental results are better of sodium silicate as a binder. Thispaper has carried on the micro image observation and mechanics performance examinationanalysis to lateral section and the surface layer of cladding layers, and has carried on thevariance analysis to the experimental data. It is concluded that the processparameters,(including laser power, scanning speed, from coke, preset thickness and differentprocess method),affect the morphology and microhardness of law, and has obtained the craft parameter optimization plan.It is the key to control dilution rate to the high quality of cladding layer. This paper hasestablished a mathematical model for dilution rate.Through experiments to conclude that theinfluence of process parameters on the dilution rate and effect of dilution rate on the claddinglayer performance.
