With the continuous development of CNC machine tools, the performance requirements of the CNC machine tool spindle also become more and more important. The static and dynamic characteristics of the CNC machine tool spindle affects the precision and stability of machining system. Therefore, it is nesessary to check out the performance of the CNC machine tool spindle on the design stage. At the same time, in order to shorten the product design cycle and reduce the costs, the research on characteristics analysis and optimization system of the CNC machine tool spindle becomes extremely important.Rely on the HTC3250μn and HTC2550hs high-speed precision CNC turning center, the subject analyzes the static and dynamic characteristics of the CNC tool spindle with the finite element analysis software. According to the results, optimize the weak link of the CNC tool spinle and establish the analysis and optimization system for the CNC tool spindle, which is used the optimization design feature in ANSYS. The followed works have been done in the paper:(1) Study on the finite element equations based on the statics and dynamics. Establish the accurately finite element model of the CNC tool spindle with the technology of the parametric modeling, which reflects the actual process.(2) Compare the two finite element analysis methods for the static characteristics of the CNC tool spindle. Also comapre the two analysis results throuth the different bearing equivalent methods. Obtain the more accurate finite element analysis model and static stiffness of the CNC tool spindle.(3) Research on the modal and harmonic analysis for the CNC tool spindle, get the important dynamic characteristic parameters just like critical rotation rate of the spindle, dynamic stiffness, etc.(4) With the natural frequency and static deformation through the performance analysis of the CNC tool spindle, use the ANSYS design tool to optimize for the multi-objectives including volume and vibration amplitude.(5) Using the way of joint development between Visual C++6.0and ANSYS, develop an application software for the characteristic analysis and the structure optimization design of the CNC tool spindle.The research of this paper has directive meaning and engineering applied value in the facets of enhancing the design level and analysis efficiency of the CNC tool spindle, popularizing finite element technology, enhancing the reaction speed to the market demands and strengthening enterprise power.
