Aromatic hydrocarbon is an important class of organic chemical raw materials, widely used in the modern chemical industry in various production fields. Methanol production has amature technology, whose raw materials are wide, such as coal, natural gas and other raw materials. Besides biomass to methanol is the current research of methanol production technology. In the growing trend of methanol production, non-oil route to aromatics research focuses on aromatization of methanol (MTA).With respect to the oil routes for the production of aromatics, MTA reaction has the characteristics of sustainable development, which can not only improve the utilization of methanol, but also broaden sources of ways to get aromatics.A detailed analysis of how to analyze the specific content of product components was studied, and we successfully established a product analysis program. We divided products into gas phase, oil phase and water phase. And the analysis of gaseous products was taken in two sets of gas chromatographs: in SP-3420A gas chromatograph equipped with TCD detector and two chromatographic columns (TDX-01column and5A zeolite column), by which we can analyze inorganic gases; in GC-8600gas chromatograph equipped with FID detector and KB-Na2SO4/Al2O3column, hydrocarbon gases of C1-C5were analyzed; in GC-8600gas chromatograph equipped with FID detector, the oil products were analyzed by KB-wax column, the water phase was analyzed by BP-1column. The method can be used to analyze24kinds of specific product compositions, including all of the major aromatic products.In this paper, four HZSM-5zeolite catalysts of different SiO2/Al2O3(23,30,50,80) were modified in impregnation method, and characterized by XRD, SEM, HRTEM, TGA, Py-IR, etc. Different catalytic performance in MTA reactions was studied under the same conditions. In the result, for the HZSM-5zeolites, the best SiO2/Al2O3ratio is30; for the HZSM-5modified by2%Zn (wt.), the best SiO2/Al2O3ratio is50, a synergetic effect occurs between Zn and HZSM-5zeolites with different SiO2/Al2O3ratios. The optimum mass fraction of Zn on HZSM-5(SiO2/Al2O3ratio is50) is2%.The reaction conditions of MTA reaction on HZSM-5zeolite (SiO2/Al2O3ratio is50) were optimized. The MHSV of methanol was2.16h-1(the mole fraction of water is10%), and the nitrogen used as carrier gas whose flow rate was30ml/min. We got that the optimum reaction temperature is during400℃-420℃, the optimum reaction pressure is atmosphere pressure, Also, we found that Zn could accelerate the rate of coke formation.
