To enhance the thermal conductivity of PBT resin, Al2O3was added as the main filler, a small amount of GNP, G, CNTs were added to replaced Al2O3partially. Performances of four different filler combinations and proportions of PBT-based samples were studied. The optimum filler ratio were chosen.Trace amount of brominated polystyrene (BPS) and POE elastomer particles was added into PBT resin, combining with high filler content of Al2O3Change of retardant conditions of PBT with a certain level of thermal conductivity was observed, and the relationship between tthermal conductivities and impact resistances of PBT sample were also studied:1. Large diameter Al2O3particles and a small content of GNP, G, CNTs with high amounts of Al2O3were added into PBT resin respectively. Four different types of PBT based samples PBT/Al2O3/GNP,PBT/Al2O3/G,PBT/Al2O3/CNTs and PBT/Al2O3were prepared. The PBT/Al2O3/GNP samples have the best heat transfer performance at each distribution ratio compared with other kinds of hybrid filler samples, PBT/Al2O3/GNP sample with6wt%GNP content has a thermal conductivity of2.33W/mK, while resistivity of the sample was reduced by seven orders of magnitude at the GNP content of4wt%.2. The proportion of PBT resin was fixed at35wt%,trace amounts of brominated polystyrene (BPS) at the ratio of2.1wt%、2.8wt%、3.5wt%was added to replace corresponding proportions of Al2O3partially. Three different ratios of PBT/BPS/A12O3samples have reached the V2flame retardant level. And the t1reduced significantly as the increase of BPS content, finally reach the level that the sample can not be ignited at the first time. The heat conduction of PBT/BPS/A12O3only reduced from1.68W/mK tol.52W/mK compared with that of PBT/65wt%Al2O33. In the case that total proportion of PBT and POE remain at35wt%, when POE content was only5.3wt%and10.5wt%,the notched impact strength of both PBT/POE/Al2O3samples were at the same level. When the mass ratio of POE reached17.5wt%, the impact strength of this PBT/POE/Al2O3sample increased to2.4KJ/m2,the magnitude improvement occurred up to85%,while the heat conduction of PBT/POE/Al2O3remain at1.35W/mK,only reduced at a small margin.
