The layout of water quality monitoring section is the basis of developing water qualitymonitoring work.The traditional layout of water quality monitoring section may besubjective and does not have good representative.This article selects a straight line riverof Yuan River in Yichun urban area as the research object.To formulate some sectionwithin reach,using the optimization method to choose the best monitoring sectionthrough hydrodynamic water and quality simulation.According to the research of the river water power and water quality characteristics,combined with the existing data such as hydrology,water quality and river sections,thepaper has established a coupling model which is suitable for study of one-dimensionalhydrodynamic and water quality.To disperse the saint venant equations by usingpreissmann four eccentric format and solve equations by using three--stage method.Waterquality model is the one-dimensional convection diffusion water quality model,and usesthe implicit difference method to solve pollutant concentration.The model are verified andvalidated after the completion of Hydrodynamic water model and quality model,theresult shows the error of the simulation value and the measured values within the scope ofthe permit. Besides,the verified one-dimensional Hydrodynamic water model and qualitymode will be used in the research of the river. Through the calculation and analysis,we canknow the changes of water quality of each drafting section in the research simulationperiod. Then we will optimize the proposed section and select the appropriate monitoringsection by using matter element analysis combined with water quality simulation result.Sothe layout of water quality monitoring section in the researched reach will be morescientific,representative and rationale.
