The reserve of rare earth resources in our country is the richest in the world. Moreover,China’s rare earth mine has an obvious advantage on the quality and can be developed usingthan the other countries. However, due to the specificity of the rare earth resources miningmethods, it is resulted that the phenomenon of vegetation destruction in the mining area isvery serious.Remote sensing technology is the only way to reach long-range, non-contact, large areadetection techniques. And the indicators of Remote sensing technology can satisfy thecondition of rare earth mine vegetation dynamic detection. Indicators contain the temporalresolution and spatial resolution. Based on remote sensing images with different phases ofchange detection, the change of vegetation which caused by rare earth is extracted and thedynamic monitoring of rare earth is achieved.In this paper, the surface characteristics and imaging features of rare earth mining areanalyzed. The basic principles and determine the basis and common algorithms ofindependent component are studied deeply. Aiming at the shortcomings of the current remotesensing image change detection algorithm, the method of independent component analysis isproposed which is based on the optimal band combination. And the method is applied to thedynamic monitoring of rare earth mining. The main contents and results are as follows:(1) The extent of damage to vegetation and surface characteristics which is due todifference of mining methods of rare earth mine is analyzed. The characteristics of remotesensing images in rare earth mine are described. It is urgent to realize dynamic monitoring ofrare earth mining from the current situation and the existing problem of rare earth mining andso on.(2) Current change detection algorithms are mostly simple mostly simple form of“From-to”. Aiming at this problem, it is in this paper that independent component analysistransformation method and optimal band are used. The change detection algorithm which isbased on optimal band of independent component analysis is put forward.(3) Taking Dingnan of Ganzhou as an example, the performance of change detectionalgorithm is tested in this area. The data of remote sensing image were detected and extractedfor10years. The changes in land use are analyzed and evaluation. The results showed that thedynamic monitoring of rare earth mining can be achieved by using remote sensing image change detection technology.In the paper, the process is tried not to lose the information on the original data. The goalis to ensure effective compression of remote sensing data. The change detection algorithmcan’t automatically change the category problems. Aiming at the problem, independentcomponent analysis algorithm is introduced. Based on optimal band combination, Theindependent component analysis change detection algorithm is proposed. Both algorithms areapplied to the dynamic inspection monitoring of Jiangxi rare earth and good experimentalresults were obtained. Meanwhile, Remote sensing image change detection in rare earthmining is feasible for dynamic monitoring in both theoretical and technical.
