Metal-organic frameworks, also known as coordination polymers, are a type of self--assembly coordination compounds formed by organic ligands and metal ions. Due to thewide applications of coordination complexes in photoelectricity, magnetic material, redoxcatalysis, ion exchange, gas adsorption, separation and molecular recognition etc., muchattention has been devoted to the design and synthesis of novel kinds of structural topologiesand compounds with special properties.Aromatic carboxylic acid and nitrogen-containing aromatic carboxylic acid, that is,2H-imidazole-4,5-dicarbonitrile,5-(3-(tetrazo-5-yl)phenyl)isophthalic acid,1,1’,4’,1’’,-4’’,1’’’-quterphenyl-3,4,3’’’,4’’’-tetracarboxlic acid,4,4’-bis(imidazol-1-ylmethyl)-biphenyl,4,4’-bis(imidazolyl)biphenyl and benzimidazole,were chosen as ligands or coligands to react with transition metal ions and rare-earth metal ions, and seventeen kinds of metal-organic frameworks with novel structures were obtained by the hydrothermal/solvothermal and the room temperature diffusion methods. The structures and thermal stabilizations of the coordination polymers were characterized by many kinds of analysis methods, such as X-ray single crystal diffraction, elementary analysis and thermal gravity analysis.At the same time, the fluorescence and magnetic properties of the parts of metal-organic frameworks were characterized. The results are as follows:First, seventeen kinds of metal-organic frameworks with novel structures were obtainedby the hydrothermal/solvothermal and the room temperature diffusion methods. Second, single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis shows;twelve metal-organic framewors(1-10,16and17) with3D network structure; One metal-organic frameworks with2Dplanestructure; One metal-organic frameworks with1D chain structure; Two metal-organicframeworks with0D structure.Third, complexes1-9are strong fluorescence properties at room temperature.Fourth, metal-organic frameworks have antiferromagnetism.
