Super-hard material has characteristics of high hardness and high wear ability, and non-traditional machining is an effective way to process the super-hard material. The technique combined electrical discharge machining (EDM) and ultrasonic machining can greatly improve the processing speed and quality. The technique can complete the processing of complex parts. Super-hard material tool, such as PCD (Polycrystalline Diamond), plays more and more important role in modern high speed machining today and the grinding technology and grinding quality of super hard material tool directly determines the cutting tool performance and processing precision. Research of bionic tribology shows that:non-smooth surface (surface texture), which having certain micro structure unit, has a smaller frictional resistance than the smooth surface. Reasonable surface micro structure can play a good part in anti-friction, which providing a new research direction for the design of the super-hard material tool.Based on the theory of metal cutting and FEM, using the finite element software DEFORM-3D, taking Johnson-Cook as the work piece material flow stress model, based on the Coulomb friction law for the contact friction model, using the Usui wear model, using the updated Lagrange method to establish aluminum alloy6160finite element cutting model as the chip separation criteria. The material of the tools were YG8cemented carbide and PCD, and established the pits and grooves micro-texture cutting tool models. Through the finite element software to simulate the cutting process, has analyzed the cutting force and the cutting temperature. The analysis results indicated that processed the pits and pits and grooves micro-texture on the rake face of the cutting tools can reduce the cutting force and the cutting temperature, improve the cutting performance.The grooves micro-texture was made on the YG8cemented carbide and PCD cutting tools’ surface by using laser processing technology, and then, the deburring processing was taken. The micro-texture tools were used in aluminum alloy cutting progress under the dry turning and lubrication conditions. Through the analysis of the cutting temperature and surface roughness indicated that the grooves micro-texture on the interface of the cutting tools can prevent the expansion of the tool wear. Under the lubricated condition, the grooves micro-texture can store a certain cutting fluid and reduce the friction. At the same time the surface roughness rate was decreased, and the grooves micro-texture cutting tools’ cutting performance was improved.
