As the consumption of coal is larger, the pressure of air pollution control is heavier. The combustion of coal in power plants emits sulfur dioxide(SO2) and nitrogen oxides(NOx), and both of them are fatal of air pollutants, acid rain, smog, and other environmental substances that are hazardous to people’s health. The heavier pressure makes the stricter emission standard, and the stricter standard makes the research of flue gas purification more meaningful for the application of market. Simulated flue gas purification is the key content, coupling with comprehensive process survey of wet indirect electro-catalytic oxidation, which is executed by theoretical analysis and experimental verification. Several factors are discussed here: the concentration of the oxidizing agent sodium hypochlorite, the temperature and the pH of the solution, the ratio of liquid to gas(L/G) and residence time. The design and analysis of orthogonal experiment are also studied to optimum operational conditions, and the results show that this process appears the most excellent performance under the condition of the concentration of NaClO is0.01mol/L, the temperature is40℃, the pH is6, the L/G is12L/m3, the residence time is4s, and the100%of SO2, the93%of NO will be removed. Plug and low efficiency of the traditional methods are successfully avoided here. Research on wet indirect electro-catalytic oxidation applied in the simultaneous desulfurization and denitrification of flue gas shows many advantages:high efficiency, simple devices, and low cost.
