In the early 1980s, the Nitrate Ester Plasticized Polyether propellant(NEPE) was a class propellant which had energy density excellent characteristics. It represented the developing direction of current high-energy solid rocket propellant. The NEPE propellant was solidified via mixing nitramine (HMX / RDX), ammonium perchlorate (AP) particles and nitrate ester plasticized polyether polyurethane. Nitramine nitrate can be dissolved in plasticizers, so that a soft layer interface was produced. Besides, such kind of propellants can easily arise "dewetting" in the process of use, so that the mechanical properties of the NEPE propellant wasn’t very good.The neutral polymer bonding agent (NPBA) was proposed by Kim C S could significantly improved the propellant mechanical properties. However, with the development of NEPE propellant, the Kim’s design and synthesis methods of bonding agents is slightly inadequate. The purpose of this research is to synthesize three kinds of novel multi-functional neutral polymer bonding agent, combining with the characteristic of NPBA, MAPO, ethanol amines and organic acid ester compounds, with the view of resolving these issues.First of all, MAPO intermediate was synthesized by MAPO and acrylic acid. Boric acid ester intermediates (B intermediate) was synthesized by hydroxyethyl acrylate(HEA), n-butyl boric acid ester and diethanolamine. And the infrared spectrometer, mass spectrometry was used to characterize the intermediates, and titration testing method was used for its quantitative research in order to obtain the better reaction condition.Secondly, through the acetone solution polymerization, three kinds of novel multi-functional neutral polymer bonding agent (NPBA) were synthesized by acrylonitrile(AN), HEA, MAPO intermediates and B intermediates. Meanwhile, the better reaction conditions were obtained via titration and other detection methods.Finally, by measuring contact angle of NPBA with the reference liquid, the surface tension and polar fraction has been calculated. Moreover, the surface adhesion work of NPBA and RDX、AP、the three crystal faces of HMX has been also calculated. Research showed that the three kinds of novel multi-functional bonding agent with the RDX、HMX、AP possess of more good performance.
