Starch Polyglycoside is one kind of nonionic surfactants which are synthesiz ed by transglycosylation process of sweet potato starch and fatty alcohol as raw materials. Owing to its special structure,it has excellent properties,such as surf activity,hydrophilicity,foam stability,tenderness and compatibility.Products are wi dely applied to detergent, cosmetics,pesticide,printing and dyeing,dope,biochemist ry and so on. There is a good future on this kind of environment-friendly noni onic surfactant.Based on the comprehensive analysis of documents about the alkyl polyglyco sides home and abroad, a research on the properties of starch polyglycosides with different average DPs,which are producted in industry and synthesized in laboratory, is carried out.There are a further understanding and a new definitio n on this new kind of starch polyglycosides.A new product is discovered by c ompounding starch polyglycosides and other surfactants,which can be used as ex cellent green emulsifier,metal detergent,leveling agent.This is a further use of sweet potatoes and a support of apply of starch polyglycosides in industry. The experiment obtains the following conclusions:(1)Alkyl Polyglycosides is in the 2000L reactor, through transglycosylation process of sweet potato starch, using glycol and long chain alcohol (octanol, decyl alcohol, and dodecanol) as raw materials. The surface tension is 32mN/m or so at 25℃, and there are two critical micellization concentration, one is 35mN/m or so, another is 28-24mN/m. better moisture retention, the water loss rate is less than 30% after 12 hours, and is 33.35% after 24 hours. It is better bullous stability, and a certain degree of emulsification. IR and GC prove that the product is alkyl polyglycosides surfactant of starch.(2)The effect of mixtures of starch alkyl polyglycosides and other surfactants, such as fatty alcohol polyethylene glycol ether sulfate(AES), fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether (AEO) on the emulsification was researched, find the optimum proportioning and compare the emulsification under the proportioning with alkylphenol polyoxyethylene ether (OP-10). The experiment shows lower surface tension and the emulsification of the complex is equivalent to OP-10 on rape oil and better than OP-10 on transformer oil. The complex is high cloud point, better bullous stability can replace OP-10 in the emulsified applications. (3) Combined systems using starch polyglycosides and other surfactants. Sur vey and evaluate its properties and research on its application. The experiment shows:As water-based metal cleanning agent,the system has excellent wetting a ction and emulsification, with good detergency, rust-protection, corrosion inhibiti on, environmental protection,and without residue.(4) As printing and dyeing,combined systems using starch polyglycosides an d other surfactants. Survey and evaluate its properties and research on its applic ation. The experiment shows:the system could retard the dye up take rate and assist the leveling fabric dyeing.At the optimum conditions,attain the effect of d yeing performance.It has the important significance to the application of starch polyglycosides in industry.
