The environmental pollution and no utilization of spent FCC catalyst fine powder is aroused key attention. Ultrafine zeolite Y was successfully prepared via in-situ technology using such catalyst powder as raw material. The main purpose of this paper is to achieve green production for FCC process and recycle of silicon and aluminum resource. The activation mechanism was investigated by quenching technique and the activation conditions were obtained in this paper. The results showed that the transformation between four and five-coodinated aluminium can be exhibited. The main factors influence the activation is calcinations time, calcination temperature and amount of alkali. Every condition was tuned in order to obtain optimum activation effect.Zeolite Y was prepared by activated fine powder via in-situ synthesis coupled with structure-directing method. The main synthesis conditions such as Si-Al ratio of raw materials, alkalinity, amount of structure directing agent, crystallization temperature and crystallization time were investigated. The results showed that ultrafine zeolit Y with high surface area and relative crystallinity can be synthesized by FCC catalyst fine powder. The structure of zeolite can be easily tuned by controlling the synthesis conditons. The purification and relative crystallinity were tuned by amount of structure directing agent and alkalinity. The synthesis conditions were optimized by orthogonal experiment. The results also indicated that the crystallizing time is the main factor to influence the surface area of the zeolite. The effect of heavy metals on the structure of zeolite Y contaminated by the procedure of Mitchell method was studied. The role of heavy metals on the formation of skeletal structure of zeolite Y was proposed.
