Since the 21 st century, limitations of many traditional innovation modes are exposed as complexity of the economic globalization and information technology increases, thus, reforming and seeking new innovative models has increasingly become the focus of academia and business circles. When looking at the shortcomings of the traditional closed innovation, more technological innovation-oriented enterprises have chosen to break their own technological innovation boundaries. Using the new open innovation thinking, these enterprises enhance their own ability to innovate quickly through the external innovation resources and channels, and finally achieve the technological innovation goals. However, due to several factors, such as the innovation environment, internal and external resources endowment, the characteristics in the open innovation process are varied, which makes every business process of open innovation become a "black box." Especially in the "Chinese characteristics" market environment, China's enterprises have been given a very clear development background, which makes the growth process more special. Therefore, this paper adopts the case study method on the open innovation strategy evolution of China's enterprises through in-depth research and analysis, intended to open a "black box" of secrets. It starts from the depth analysis of a typical business case for the complex process of open innovation strategy evolution, and establish a reasonable analysis framework, then further enrich and deepen the study theory of open innovation.The thoughts run through this paper are carried out step by step along the analysis of GuangYang open innovation strategy evolution. First of all, on the basis of literatures, the paper reviews the research achievements of western and eastern scholars, and summarizes the point of views related with the main points of open innovation and development trends, then the paper briefly reviews the theoretical contributions to the development and the unsolved problems. Then, it is followed a description of the study design, in which the scientific research method is the guarantee of the case study results credibility and effectiveness. In the study design section, the author explains the science of this study from three aspects of research methods, case selection, data collection and consolidation, which does the necessary groundwork for the further studies. Next, it is a systematic introduction of the case study. Through analyzing the development process of GuangYang's innovation, this paper clarified the process of open innovation strategy evolution, which has laid the research foundation for the case study. After this, it is the research stage of the paper, which analyzes the evolution path, the use of external resources and internal capacity building of GuangYang's open innovation strategies to GuangYang as the research object, and deeply studies the role of internal control management system and entrepreneurial spirit, then forms a relatively complete study framework. Finally, it is the concluding part, which shows the additional limitations and future research directions for the analysis of the final conclusions.
