Studies on the relation between logistics and international trade have been increasing in recent 20 years. The general domestic and international achievements in this field could be put into following categories:use different nations, regions and industries as research objects to review the impacts of logistics on international trade; study the relations between logistics and international trade from the perspective of logistical costs; check the causality between logistics and international trade through empirical analysis. Since previous researches were confined to correlation analysis or empirical study on total logistical amounts and total trade amounts, this thesis, starting from the perspective of logistics efficiency, will probe into the impacts of logistics efficiency on merchandise export, import and two-way trade respectively, to unfold deeper connection between logistics and trade.Having pointed out the short-comings of traditional trade theories, this paper analyzed the changes on trade model and revenue distribution under the term of logistical costs, and then stated the affecting mechanism on foreign trade by the growth of logistics efficiency. Trade gravity model has been introduced into this thesis and has been improved according to research objective and research purpose. Hypothesizes are given as the foundation of empirical analysis.Such logistics efficiency indexes as unit freight ton-kilometer expense, logistical labor productivity and capital productivity are applied as explanatory variables, together with income factors and population factors from traditional trade gravity model. Respect regression analysis on goods export, import and two-way trade are conducive to assess different effects from different variables. On combination of theoretical statement, empirical analysis and econometrics tests, conclusions could be achieved that, growth in comprehensive logistics efficiency could stimulate foreign trade. The promotion from logistical labor productivity is prominent while impeded capital productivity has become a serious issue. To solve this problem and prompt foreign trade, proposed measurements are put forward both from the stands of logistics industry and the nation as a whole.
