With the development of technology, science and technology contributes more and more on the development of social and economic, and tends to be more specialized and more integration, and science and technology research lay more and more emphasis on team collaboration and collective wisdom. As an innovation team of intelligence and collaboration, disciplinary team is the main force of technological research in research institutes and institutions of higher education, and adapt to requirement of the development of knowledge economy. However, how to discover a disciplinary team and its scientific research outputs has become a key point to researchers. Under the background of the 2009 disciplinary informatics project "Competitive Analysis of Research Institutes" of National Science Library Chinese Academy of Sciences, a method of analysis and evaluation on disciplinary team competitiveness at micro level and untraditional, includes the define of disciplinary team members, the discover of their scientific research outputs and the analyze and evaluate on disciplinary team competitiveness, is put forward which fits for research institutes and institutions of higher education by using bibliometrics, social network analysis, data mining and statistical analysis method. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is described from the example of its practical application. Main works that have been done in this thesis including:Aiming at how to identify team members, based on academic leader, scientific literature and Social Network, a practical discriminant criterion is presented to ensure the work more objective, more accurate, more reasonable, and more comparative.Aiming at how to collect the information about coauthors and their scientific papers, based on Mediawiki, a field specialist navigation platform is designed and implemented by using mature tools available and data mining technology, which takes name and affiliation as search terms, and collects data from the third-party authoritative databases. Finally, a coauthor ship network is generated automatically pass by data cleaning, data analysis and data merging, which can discover a disciplinary team and its scientific research outputs at the deep level.Aiming at how to analyze and evaluate on disciplinary team competitiveness, an evaluation index system and a PCA evaluating model with an advantage of objective weighting are proposed to analyze disciplinary teams based on scientific research productive forces, scientific research influence and scientific research development strength.Aiming at the applicability requirements of research achievements, the scientificity and validity of the method proposed in this paper are demonstrated by the application that includes the identification of academic leaders, the generation of coauthor ship network, the identification of disciplinary team, and the analysis and evaluation on disciplinary team competitiveness.Finally, extensible and prolongable works are prospected, and ideas and methods are offered for the method of analysis and evaluation on disciplinary team competitiveness.
