A Research On The Technology Spillover Of FDI On The Manufacturing Sector In Guangdong Province

Against the background of the new round of globalization, it is of great significance for domestic enterprises to improve their technology and efficiency in order to help Guangdong Province finds right ways to grab the opportunities of global industry relocation and attracts foreign traders'advanced producing section and foreign researching institutes to enter Guangdong. Under these circumstances, making clear the concrete mechanism of FDI technology spillover effects is quite important.In theoretical part, some related theories about FDI technology spillover are firstly reviewed. Then on that basis, the present the writer's commentates on available studies in respect of the channels and research methods of spillover effects.The practical and proving part is quite different from previous scholars. In this essay, using the Quantile Regression research methods, the writer analyze the mechanism and channels of FDI technology spillover effects from several the respects, such as the regional variation, enterprise character.A conclusion based on above analysis can be drawn as follows:from the results of comprehensive regression samples, I can find that it is much better for the low level domestic enterprises to gain benefit from spillover effects, and spillover effects'forward linkage places a negative influence on domestic enterprises at high level, moreover, the backward linkage is the major mechanism of FDI technology spillover effects; from the characteristic of the enterprises, I find that compared with non-state enterprises, the state-owned enterprises (SOE) show a positive effect at each level in its spillover performance and get widely influence by the negative effects which the foreign enterprises bring in respect of forward linkage; from regional variation, FDI has a larger impact on backward technology spillover effects of Perl river delta region's domestic manufacturing industry than that of non-Perl river delta region's in each order level, and the final results of both groups are apparently negative; the regression results of business to business data and the research on Guangzhou auto industry cases both prove the research conclusion of this essay.Based on the researching conclusion of this essay, the writer puts forward relative policy suggestions in respect of enhancing the relations between domestic and overseas-funded enterprises, accelerating industry relocation and other three points.
