Nowadays we are living in a world where the speed of the information has become a key point for any success in all kinds of activities. The financial information appears to be in the center of all kind of decisions that shapes the world today. Business is made by companies, companies produce lots of kinds of information they share with the world and among those kinds, the strategic one is the financial information. If very big international companies produce financial information that has a direct impact in the world economy via the stock markets all over the world, we can not deny the importance of the impact of the financial information provided by small and medium companies in any national economy, especially in Africa where small and medium companies are the most important business drivers. In Cameroon for instance almost all big companies are foreign companies not directly dealing with the national realities of business, while very few big companies are state own companies following rules of management and financial rules that are related to the public administration organization. The bigger part of the economic activity is in the hand of small and medium companies. These companies in Cameroon have to follow the rules of accounting that are internationally standardized, while producing the financial information they have to share with stakeholders. The reality of the business made by these companies is a complex situation that has it source in the internal organization in these small and medium companies. The social reality has a deep impact on the creation and the management of these small and medium companies, and the quality of financial decision or any other decision made by managers mostly owners of their companies, is always seen as a result of the research of equilibrium among the different stakeholders and the law. According the business environment in Cameroon and according to the rules that most be followed, we have come to do the research on the quality of financial information these small and medium companies establish and share with their partners. While government experts are working on some projects in order to open the listing of SME's in a special segment of the Douala stock exchange market, the quality of the financial information of SME's is still of low level. Our purpose is first to understand the drivers leading the establishment of financial statements by SME's, and second to discuss some solutions that can possibly improve the quality of financial information; solutions such as improve the governance, improve the accounting organization, rethinking valuation methods and practices, improve the financials communication and diversify the portfolio of business partners.
