Theoretical Connotation Of Constructing Green Beijing

Guided by Scientific Concept of Development, Beijing is on a way to construct a environment-friendly and resource-saving city, with successful experience of building Green Beijing for the Beijing Olympics.This paper aims at providing theoretical resources for the construction of Green Beijing. Abiding by the research principles of "promoting practice to theory" and "applying theory to practice", methodologies of historical research and literature research will be used in this paper. In the first part, the author will try to make clear the relationships among People's Beijing, High-tech Beijing and Green Beijing. In the second part, the theoretical sources of Green Beijing will be explored to declare that Green Beijing signifies a eco-friendly and sustainable city where humans and nature are in harmony. In the third part, the author will analyze multi-level components which constitute Green Beijing.The paper innovatively illustrates the essential requirements of building Green Beijing from the perspectives of green vitality, green space, green recycle system and green civilization. Finally, the paper explores ways to construct Green Beijing at four levels as materials, behaviors, institutions and concepts.
