A Study On Festival Of Rural Tourism Of Shanghai

With the rapid growth of rural tourism, festival activities have enriched the content of rural tourism from various aspects, including uniqueness, depth, experience and persistence. Based on above reasons, all these activities have attracted more and more attention gradually. Adding the festival activities to the rural tourism definitely can give people more real and plenty experience. In 1991, the first Nanhui Peach Blossom Festival was hold in Taohua village, Huinan town, Nanhui, which opened the prologue of festival activities in rural tourism of Shanghai. After that, many other festival activities in rural tourism with folk customs and vulgar features have appeared, like Shanghai Orange Festival, Shanghai Grape Festival in Malu, Shanghai Cauliflower Festival, etc.In this dissertation, we will investigate the festival activities in Shanghai rural tourism (FASRT). Especially, we will choose the Shanghai Peach Blossom Festival (SPBF) as the study case. By collecting and processing related documents and data, we aim to track the development of FASRT, capture their characteristics, clarify their type and space distribution, analyze their develop trend and economic benefits, and summarize their defects. Finally, we hope to propose some corresponding optimal development strategies, which can give some useful reference to the development of FASRT.This dissertation is organized by five chapters. Chapter 1 introduces the aims, meanings, methods and contents of this study systematically, lists the corresponding progress at home and abroad, and gives some related definitions and theories. Chapter 2 mainly reviews development history and present state of FASRT. Chapter 3 clarifies the type and feature of FASRT, analyzes their development conditions and space distributions, and finally finds the existing problems. Chapter 4 investigates the progress of SPBF and analyzes their develop trend and economic benefits. Moreover, we will study the American Rose Festival, and learn its successful festival activities experience. Chapter 5 is the conclusion part, which will present some pertinent and useful advice to the development of FASRT.
