Our country lags behind other countries in infrastructure and basic industries, which has long been a bottleneck holding back the economic development. It introduces the experiences of performance audit for foreign construction projects and the reality of our country in this field, and then the constraint factors are proposed while implementing performance audit effectively. Then, it designs the specific procedures of performance audit for construction projects, establishes evaluation indicators system of performance audit of construction projects according to certain principles, and then proposes solutions for our performance audit barriers. Through making the performance a whole process and different levels, we could largely avoid duplication, inefficient construction investment and construction, as well as detect, expose and correct the existing project problem, and then plug the loopholes in project management, prevent the loss, waste of fund, and ensure the construction quality so that the limited economic resources could attain maximum benefits.
