The social transformation includes transition in economics and Social thoughtconversion.In the course of social transformation, the luxury market is developing rapid.Many reports about the luxury consumption appeared in newspapers, and it has been a socialhot spot that can't be ignored in China.This research makes the luxury consumption as studyobject, found related reports in Economic Information Daily from 1997 to 2008, and thentakes content analysis as the method.The exordium of this thesis introduces the background and the purpose of the research,the research status both in domestic and abroad, defines the luxury consumption and raisespecific questions. The second part descrips research methods ,including sampling,thecontent analysis,coding standard,data collection and so on. The third part is the impotantpart; it shows the results and analysis. In the basis of the third part, the next part carries out adeep discussion.The fifth part makes a summary, points out the drawback and outlook.The study found a few results, such as that there is a stage characteristics when mediareports the luxury consumption; treats internal and external luxury brands differently; thecritical angle inclines to been broadened; when gives a abhor attitude to the luxuryconsumption in government, media are likely to accept individua's luxury consumption.When the society is lack of goods, most social wealth should be spend to meet most people's basicneed, this cann't be destroyed while there are enouch money for most people to extra consumption,individua's luxury is accepted, and luxury of government as well as over consumption will becritised strongly. Luxury makes an influence on dynamic construction of moral value ofsociety, and media plays an important role in the course of it.
