A Study On The Management Of Commercial Bank Of China During Its Early Stage (1897-1911)

The article mainly discussed the the management of the first bank in modern China—Commercial Bank of China,to study the situation of its debts(bank savings),capital(loan and invest) and the surrounds of the financial market. At the deposits work,the thesis analysed the bank savings origins,amounts,times and rates,then concluded some experiences.Although there is not obvious progress at its deposits,it formed the common rates among the native bankings organizations and foreign banks. At the loanment of the bank ,the paper emphasized its targets,quantities,times,rates and mortgages,then explained the relations and changes each other,revealed the social and economical situation in Late Qing that affected the bank. Commercial Bank of China managed not only deposit and credit but also investment. The article emphasized the bank investment in its early stage, analysed some reasons and main forms of the investment.It was weak in industry in modern China that Commercial Bank of China invest some estates in Late Qing. Commercial Bank of China became the representative at the banking investment in modern China.Finally,the article discussed the money market envionments,then expounded the mutual relationship each other to summarize some charateristics and tendecies which the money market possessed in decades during Late Qing.
