The Present State Of The China's Secury Industry In Reference To The SCP And Advices For Its Future Development

The Chinese Securities Industry has formed a basic frame on large scale with the 10 years' development. By the end of 2004, there are 133 securities firms and 3075 branches in national wide with the total Asset RMB329.4 billon and the net Asset RMB66.9 billon. Because the Chinese securities industry has played a more and more important role in the development of capital market and market economy, it is necessary to study securities industry deeply and systematically. Meanwhile, it is advantageous to observe the current situation and expect the future. It is meaningful for government and administration to make related policies. However, lacking of theoretical basis and methodologies, the current research on Chinese securities industry has been at a low level.The purpose of this thesis is to study the market performance, market conduct and market structure respectively from both theoretical and empirical angels by applying the theory of industrial organization and SCP Models. I wish this thesis will offer some contributes for the future related research.
